June 8 (UPI) — Washington Commanders defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio apologized Wednesday for calling the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, revolt at the U.S. Capitol a “dustup.”

“I made feedback earlier today in referencing the assault that took place on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. Referencing that space as a dustup became irresponsible and negligent and I’m sorry,” Del Rio said in a press release. “I stand by my feedback condemning violence in communities all the design through the nation.
